Senior Real Estate Special (SRES) Designation
In 2007, Tom received the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation from the National Association of Realtors. This designation notes the completion of training in understanding the needs, consideration and goals of real estate buyers and sellers aged 55 and over.
"i have a very special interest in the housing needs of this important segment of the real estate market. Especially since I'm one of them!" explains Jones.
This market is the fastest growing age group, but it's also very diverse in its housing needs. It includes the babyboomer that is either retiring or downsizing as well as the more senior citizen that is transitioning to independent or assisted living. Real estate decisions may involve estate planning, special financing and tax needs, issues of medicare and social security plus family and emotional needs.
